Quintiles announced today that it has been recognized as one of Europe’s Best Workplaces by the Great Place to Work® Institute, finishing in 8th place in the Best “Multinational Large” Workplace category. Quintiles was also recognized this year in several individual European countries including Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Scotland, Spain and the United Kingdom.

The Great Place to Work Institute annual ranking is the most comprehensive study in organizational culture in the world. More than 2,100 companies representing 1 million employees participated in the 2012-13 Best Workplaces study in Europe. This year’s recognition marks Quintiles’ third appearance on the European Great Places to Work list.

Quintiles Chief Administrative Officer and Head of the Europe, Middle East and Africa Board, Mike Mortimer said, “We are incredibly proud of our teams across Europe, who have made this possible. We have a passionate workforce that applies its unique knowledge and expertise everyday to help solve the issue of patient health around the world.”

The Great Place to Work launched the first Best Companies to Work For list in conjunction with Fortune magazine in the United States and Exame in Brazil more than 20 years ago. Great Place to Work now recognises workplaces in nearly 50 countries.

To be recognized as a “Multinational Large” Workplace, a minimum of 1,000 employees worldwide must complete the survey, the company must have been recognized as a Great Workplace on at least three national lists, and at least 40% of the company’s employees must work outside the country where the company is headquartered.

“Companies in this year’s ranking are developing organizational cultures dedicated to building trust and camaraderie among their employees,” said Robert Levering, co-founder and global CEO of Great Place to Work. “Inclusion on this list reflects companies’ commitment to continuously improving the quality of life of employees and setting new standards for organisations in the future.”
