Clarity by Design: The future of particle characterization

Webinars

At Malvern Panalytical, our team of expert engineers and scientists constantly innovates to address the analytical challenges our customers are facing, in fundamental research through to product development and processing.

We pioneer novel technologies and solutions by pushing the boundaries of instrument design and software control, always seeking to improve usability and increase measurement speed and range. This is what makes Malvern Panalytical global leaders in the development of analytical technologies, especially those used for particle characterization.

Detailed particle characterization, including shape and size analysis and chemical identification, enables thorough understanding of materials and how they impact the final product, in industries ranging from pharmaceutical development to metal powder processing and electrode manufacture. This level of knowledge creates confidence and control in optimized development and manufacture processes.

On February 14th, 2018, we’re proud to be unveiling the new Morphologi® 4 automated static imaging system, and Morphologi 4-ID, with integrated Morphologically-Directed Raman Spectroscopy (MDRS®) – the ultimate solutions for every scientist seeking absolute analysis and understanding of their samples. Please join us to see how the future of particle characterization has been transformed.

Dr. Deborah Huck-Jones,

Product Manager - Analytical Imaging, Malvern Panalytical

With lifelong interests in both science and languages, Debbie Huck-Jones successfully combined the two by completing an MChem with European Study at Exeter University (UK), with a year spent in Montpellier (France). During her final year project, she synthesized and characterized banana-shaped liquid crystals - the size and shape of the molecules being key to whether or not the material exhibits liquid crystal properties and if so, over which temperature range. This work provided Debbie with her first link to Malvern, as it was at the RSRE (now Qinetic) facility in Malvern where much early research into liquid crystals for LCD displays was carried out, and of course it is also here that Malvern Instruments (now Malvern Panalytical) was born. Debbie continued her studies of liquid crystals and French, and was awarded her PhD jointly from the University of Exeter and the Universite Louis Pasteur, in Strasbourg. In 2005, Debbie's interest in material size and shape transitioned from molecules to particles, when she joined Malvern Panalytical as a product technical specialist (PTS) for analytical imaging, and later moved to the role of PTS Supervisor for imaging and laser diffraction. In these roles, Debbie worked closely with customers and existing users all around the world, providing applications development and support for the Morphologi and other imaging instruments. She also worked with our imaging development team, supplying applications feedback for the Morphologi G3 and Morphologi G3-ID, and has capitalized on these experiences since becoming Product Manager for Malvern Panalytical's analytical imaging range at the beginning of 2014.
