Sharing Perspectives: What is new in the field of liver decompensation with hepatic encephalopathy (HE)?

Webinars

Overt hepatic encephalopathy, or HE, is a common complication of cirrhosis. Up to 40% of patients with cirrhosis will develop HE within their disease course. As such, it represents significant emotional and socioeconomic burden for patients, their families and caregivers. ⁽¹’²⁾

Key healthcare professionals in the field of liver decompensation and HE have identified a strong need to collaborate across all sectors in order to improve patient management and outcomes in this field.

This multidisciplinary webinar will present three perspectives from specialists all interacting with HE patients at certain stages of the management pathway. Our expert speakers will present their views on how healthcare professionals can work together to develop strategies to lessen the burden of HE.

Discussion will include the importance of effective and standardised long-term management, a nurse’s perspective on practical care, and recent advances in this field including new data from King’s College London discussing management techniques for patients on the transplant list.

Register now to become part of a synergistic team working to improve outcomes in HE and to educate nurses, patients and caregivers whilst developing the necessary tools to facilitate effective long-term management strategies for HE.
